Reiki is a natural healing energy that supports the body’s own natural healing ability and brings all parts of the individual into balance, alignment and harmony, on all levels.  It is a gentle, yet powerful, complementary therapy that may be used with confidence alongside orthodox health care.

The practise of Reiki is an original method of healing, developed by Mikao Usui in Japan in the early 20th century, the word Reiki meaning ‘universal energy’.  Eastern medicine has always recognised and worked with this energy which flows through all living things and is vital to well-being.

By engendering greater inner harmony and balance, regular Reiki treatments promote a calmer response to life’s challenges, whether on an emotional, mental, physical or spiritual level.  If energy levels are low, then they will be boosted, if spirits are low, then they will be lifted.  Reiki can make you feel more positive and brings balance back into your life.

Reiki can produce fast and long-lasting results in almost all cases, for example;

  • Stress, tension, anxiety and related symptoms
  • Sleeplessness
  • Emotional turmoil and discord
  • Feeling unable to cope
  • Low spirits, depression
  • Long term pain  e.g. back pain
  • Rheumatism, arthritis,

The examples shown above, and many other conditions, can normally be helped with a course of three to four treatments at weekly/fortnightly intervals.  This would seem to be enough to produce long-term beneficial changes, either independently with Reiki, or alongside orthodox or complementary health care, dependant on the condition.
